Born in
Baton Rouge

👋
I grew up in rural Louisiana — the kind of place where everyone waves when they pass you on the road and where you learn early that the small things matter.

There’s a word we use down there: “lagniappe” (lan-yap).
It means “a little something extra“.

It’s what the baker slips into your bag when you buy a dozen donuts, or the way a neighbor shows up before you even have to ask for help.

That idea has always stuck with me. It shaped how I see business, brands and people.

Today, I help entrepreneurs, leaders and creators build brands that deliver that same kind of “extra” — thoughtful, human and unforgettable.

From my work inside companies like Meta and Yahoo to building Clutch City, my focus has always been simple: Create moments people don’t expect, and never forget.

It’s why I write Field Notes, my weekly newsletter for entrepreneurs.
It’s why I host How To Ride A Roller Coaster, a podcast about navigating life when you’re building something real.
And it’s why I speak on stages about “The Lagniappe Effect” — how little things make a big impact — and “Riding The Roller Coaster“, a talk about the raw, honest truth of early-stage entrepreneurship

A few things to know:
• I now live in Reno, NV with my wife and young son, but I still bring Louisiana with me everywhere I go.
• I believe most people don’t need more — they just need to care a little deeper.
• I believe great brands aren’t build by algorithms — they’re built by people… and every single touchpoint matters.

I’m glad you’re here 🙂

Now, let’s get to it.
